Signature hole
Hole 7 — a long 515-foot par-4 along a hillside that rewards a controlled drive before a tight approach to a basket on a slope

The Basin is the course Houston players describe with the word 'finally.' Nearly everything in the metro is flat, and The Basin — a volunteer-built 18-hole layout opened in 2024 and designed by Paul Williams with Matthew Barajas — finally gives local disc golf the hills it was missing. It's routed through a flood-control basin near Little York Road that does what the surrounding Gulf Coast terrain rarely does: it changes your footing.

This is a genuinely advanced course. Steep slopes, tight wooded fairways and narrow windows to the basket punish mistakes, and poison ivy lines the rough — bring long socks and stay on the mowed line. It plays to a par of 55 over roughly 5,500 feet of mostly climb-and-drop shotmaking that rewards accuracy over power. Because it's on flood-control land, amenities are minimal (parking is across the street), but the course is free, cared for by volunteers and quickly became one of the metro's most loved tracks. The elevation oscillation is airtight proof that not every Houston course has to look the same.
