About this course

Agnes Moffitt Park is a City of Houston community park of about 40 acres on Hammerly Boulevard in Spring Branch West, and its disc golf course is one of five the Houston Parks and Recreation Department listed in its own disc golf directory. That listing recorded 18 holes played from grass and dirt tees to Disc Catcher targets, with a warm-up basket at the start. The park has been getting steady city attention: the playground was rebuilt under a $268,000 contract that broke ground in December 2015, and in 2018 landscape architects Clark Condon completed a master plan for the site that keeps the disc golf course while adding a new swim complex, sprayground, dog park, trails and a nine-acre tennis complex the city is developing with the Houston Tennis Association.

The course is flat — USGS puts the park at about 92 feet with roughly three feet of variation across it — so the defense is trees, not terrain. Aerials show a park that is genuinely mixed rather than open: mown clearings broken up by mature stands and a thick tree line along the western and southern edges. It's free and public, with parking, picnic tables, a playground and paved paths on site, and it's shared with a swimming pool, basketball pavilion and ball field. The Houston Flying Disc Society, the nonprofit that acts as the parks department's citywide course adoption agency, runs its Thursday league here in six-week seasonal sessions.
