Harmony Bends Championship Disc Golf Course

Harmony Bends is Columbia Parks and Recreation's championship course, built at Strawn Park on North Strawn Road and established in 2016. John Houck designed it — his first course in Missouri — around the hills and the meandering Harmony and Perche creeks that run through the park. The championship layout plays to par 68 with four par-5 holes, and the city lists lengths from 6,126 feet up to 8,911 feet depending on which tees you play, with a 9,603-foot Gold configuration held back for tournaments. Most holes have three concrete tees and targets are DISCatcher baskets.

It is a long course by any measure: 11 of the 18 holes play over 400 feet and only five play under 300. Several holes carry their own local rules for the stone walls, stairs and creek crossings built into the design, so the tee signs are worth reading before you count a penalty. The course is free for recreation play and open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. The city added parking and restrooms in 2020 and approved a further round of drainage, sidewalk and low-water-crossing work in 2025, the year Harmony Bends hosted the PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championship.
