Scored for mixed terrain
The Back course at Albert-Oakland Park is the newer of the park's two 18-hole disc golf layouts. Columbia Parks and Recreation dates it to 1999 and credits the design to the Columbia (MO) Disc Golf Club, working with the department. It runs over moderately hilly, moderately wooded ground to a course length of 5,497 feet — noticeably longer than its neighbor, with 11 of 18 holes in the 300-400 foot range and one over 400 feet. Tees are concrete and targets are Mach III baskets.
Like the Front course, it shares the 79-acre Albert-Oakland Park at 1900 Blue Ridge Road with a family aquatic center, ball fields, and tennis and pickleball courts, and it's free for recreation play. The added length and the terrain change through the Bear Creek South Branch valley make this the tougher of the park's two courses, a step up for players who've outgrown the Front course.
