Albert-Oakland Park Disc Golf Course (Front)

Albert-Oakland Park's Front course is the older of the park's two 18-hole disc golf layouts. Columbia Parks and Recreation dates it to 1979 and credits the design to Ed Headrick — the inventor of the modern disc golf basket — working with the department. It plays over mostly flat, lightly wooded ground to a course length of 4,580 feet, with 15 of its 18 holes under 300 feet and none over 400. Tees are concrete and targets are Mach III baskets.

The course sits inside the 79-acre Albert-Oakland Park at 1900 Blue Ridge Road, alongside the Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, tennis and pickleball courts, ball fields, and a trailhead for the Bear Creek Trail. Disc golf is free for recreation play, and restrooms, picnic shelters and ample parking serve both of the park's courses. Short and comparatively open, the Front course is a good fit for new players or a quick round, while its neighbor, the Back course, adds length and elevation change.
