Bryan Park Disc Golf Course

Joseph Bryan Park is a 262-acre city park in Richmond's Northside, with its main entrance on Hermitage Avenue and smaller entrances off Bryan Park Avenue. Its center holds an 18-hole disc golf course alongside five soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts, a large playground and picnic shelters. According to the nonprofit Friends of Bryan Park, the course is laid out with two tee sets on most holes — blue for a harder, longer game and yellow for an easier one — so the same course works for a beginner's round or a more competitive one.

The park is open sunrise to dusk, free to play, and has three parking lots plus miles of closed-to-traffic roads and wooded trails for walking between holes. River City Disc Golf Club, Richmond's local club, has funded updated baskets here in recent years. Dogs are allowed on leash throughout most of the park (though not in the Azalea Gardens), and there's a separate off-leash dog park elsewhere in Northside Richmond if you're bringing one along.
