Ellicott Creek Park Disc Golf Course

Ellicott Creek Park sits along its namesake creek in the Town of Tonawanda, just north of Buffalo. Erie County Parks, Recreation & Forestry maintains an 18-hole disc golf course here and explicitly rates it novice-level, making it one of the more approachable county courses in the system. The park itself dates to 1926 and grew from an original 40 acres through later land purchases; WPA crews added the boathouse, concession stand, and shelters in the late 1930s.

The course plays over flat floodplain ground mixing open lawn with stands of willow, maple, beech, oak, and hemlock along the creek banks. Play is free and open to the public. The wider park adds paved trails for walking and biking, tennis and pickleball courts, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and the Ellicott Island Bark Park across the footbridge for dog owners. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable conditions before Western New York's lake-effect winter sets in.
