The Lighthouse Disc Golf Course at Como Lake Park

Como Lake Park occupies the Village of Lancaster, about 13 miles southeast of Ellicott Creek Park and a similar distance east of downtown Buffalo. Erie County acquired the 80-acre park from the village through a special election in 1926, and it grew into the county's first multi-purpose park, today the third-largest in the system. Erie County Parks calls the 18-hole disc golf course here "The Lighthouse," after the park's namesake lighthouse structure overlooking the man-made lake.

Fairways mix wooded groves of beech, basswood, hickory, and black walnut with open lawn around the lake, lodge, and picnic groves. Play is free and open to the public. The park also offers hiking and the self-guided Cayuga Creek Nature Trail, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, and an off-leash dog area near the Bowen Road entrance. As with the rest of Western New York, spring and fall are the most reliable windows before winter weather sets in.
