Mary Beth Doyle Park Disc Golf Course

Mary Beth Doyle Park is an 85-acre City of Ann Arbor park on the city's south side, between Stone School Road and Platt Road, with a main entrance on Birch Hollow Drive and a second lot off Packard Street. The park was acquired in the early 1970s as 'Brown Park' and renamed in 2006 for Mary Beth Doyle, a local environmental advocate. Between 2006 and 2008 the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commission rebuilt the site's stormwater system into a 12-acre wetland handling around 15 million gallons of runoff, and the 18-hole disc golf course was relocated and rebuilt around the new pond in 2009-2010, with two tee pads per hole threading through gentle hills and wooded terrain.

It's free to play, first-come, during daylight hours — the same terms as Ann Arbor's other city course at Bandemer Park, about four and a half miles north. The city's own parks page calls it a very popular attraction, and the course shares the park with a playground, basketball court, nature trails with wooden boardwalks, and a paved path that loops the pond and wetland, so it draws a mix of disc golfers, dog walkers and families rather than being a stand-alone destination.
