Bandemer Park Disc Golf Course

Bandemer Park is a 38-acre City of Ann Arbor park that wraps around a bend of the Huron River, with entrances off Whitmore Lake Road to the north and Lake Shore Drive to the south. The ground was once a railroad stockyard and pasture, then a staging and dumping site during the M-14 bridge construction in the 1950s, before the city bought the riverfront parcel in 1985 using the Bandemer Trust Fund and spent the following decade turning it into a park with restored prairie and wetland habitat. The nine-hole disc golf course, built in 2007, follows dirt foot paths through the park's wooded riverside terrain, with three tee pads at each hole and river views along the way.

Like Ann Arbor's other city course, it's free to play, first-come, during daylight hours — no reservations or fees. The park doubles as a hub for river recreation, with a canoe and fishing dock, the Ann Arbor Rowing Club's boathouse, a bike park, and picnic areas and grills, so a round here often shares the trails with paddlers, cyclists and dog walkers rather than being a dedicated disc golf destination.
