Deussen Park Disc Golf Course

Alexander Deussen Park is a 309-acre Harris County Precinct 1 park wrapping the south side of Lake Houston, on land donated to the county in 1956. It's a full-service county park rather than a disc golf destination: a duck pond, a boat ramp and T-pier with fishing access, a community and senior center, five playgrounds, fourteen pavilions of various sizes, a water gazebo, a dog park, and four trailheads onto its walking and jogging trails. Gates are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. from March through October and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. from November through February.

The disc golf course plays 18 holes to a par of 58 over roughly 6,050 feet. It's flat — the park sits around 52 feet of elevation with no meaningful relief — and mostly open grassland, so wind off the lake does more defending than the trees do, and shade is scarce in summer. It's free and public, with parking, restrooms, picnic areas and the rest of the park's amenities close at hand.
