Owens Field Park Disc Golf Course

Owens Field Park sits next to Jim Hamilton–L.B. Owens Airport just south of downtown Columbia, and Columbia Parks and Recreation runs an 18-hole disc golf course through the property alongside a 15,000-square-foot skate park, 12 soccer fields, three T-ball fields, a Miracle League field for adaptive baseball, a pump track, a nature trail and a community garden. It's free to play and open to the public daily.

The course is the official home of the University of South Carolina's disc golf team, and Columbia's tourism office calls it a technical, pro-level layout that mixes tight gaps through the park's tree line with more open, grassy fairways near the sports fields. Its signature hole is number 7, where the basket hangs above the ground instead of sitting on a standard base. Fall and early spring bring the most comfortable playing conditions in the Midlands' humid climate.
