Rockridge Park Disc Golf Course

Rockridge Park is a 36.6-acre Bend Park & Recreation District park in northeast Bend, tucked directly south of Lava Ridge Elementary and Sky View Middle schools. BPRD bought most of the ground from the Bend-La Pine School District in 1991, added a parcel in 2016, and started building the park in 2017 — deliberately leaving more than 60 percent of the site as untouched high-desert terrain. The disc golf course runs through that natural section: 9 holes, with two tees at every basket so the round can be stretched into an 18-hole short course without moving.

BPRD frames it as the district's beginner course and a putting-practice option for players who already know what they're doing. The ground is mostly flat, and the obstacles are what the high desert supplies — old-growth juniper and natural lava outcroppings — rather than elevation or water. It shares the park with an 11,000-square-foot skatepark, a mile of beginner and intermediate bike skills trails, two play areas and a picnic shelter, which makes it an easy stop with kids along. It's free, open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Pine Nursery Park's longer 18-hole course is about a mile away if nine isn't enough.
