Joseph C. Miller Disc Golf Course

Joseph C. Miller is Jefferson City's original 18-hole disc golf course, laid out on 34 acres in Joseph C. Miller Park at the south end of Binder Lake. The Jefferson City Disc Golf Club dates it to 2004 and has kept reworking it since — most visibly in a volunteer project that powder-coated 38 baskets and fabricated new tee signs, leaving two high-visibility baskets on every hole. Pink pins mark the easier positions and white pins the harder ones, so the same 18 holes can play from roughly 4,900 feet at par 54 up to 8,860 feet at par 67 depending on which set you choose.

The ground is mostly tight fairways lined with mature trees, with punishing rough and well-guarded greens, and a few open fairways mixed in that tempt a full rip. Elevation runs from about 660 to 720 feet but the slopes are gradual — only three to five holes exceed 30 feet of change. The course is cart friendly and JC Parks lists it as free to play; the park around it holds softball fields, sand volleyball courts and a radio-controlled flying field, and The Dam Course sits a little over a mile north on the far side of the lake.
