Brookside Park Disc Golf Course

Brookside Park is a 108-acre Indy Parks property on the near east side of Indianapolis, laid out along Pogue's Run. The disc golf course went in in 1992 to host that year's amateur world championships — shared with Washington Park across town — and was designed by Jerry Suiter, Henry Aldridge, Scott Hommema and Dennis Byrne. In 2020 the Indianapolis Disc Golf Club expanded it from 18 holes to 24.

The front nine plays as open park golf before the layout tightens on the back nine, and the club points to sloped greens and long, low-ceiling shots as what the course has always been known for. The long pads are the experienced-player layout; short pads are there for newer players. Par and total length aren't published. The park is open dawn to dusk with no fee listed for the course, and also has tennis and basketball courts, two playgrounds, an outdoor pool in summer and a 20,000-square-foot family center.
