Ingersoll Park Disc Golf Course

Ingersoll Park's disc golf course is an 18-hole layout at 751 Daisyfield Road in Rockford, one of three courses the Rockford Park District maintains in the city. Built in 2018, it runs through a mature oak savannah that the park district calls 'compact and level, perfect for beginners or kids' — every hole has a Red (easy) and White (intermediate) tee pad, so the same course can play shorter and simpler or a bit longer depending on which you choose. Disc golf itself has a long history with the district: per local reporting, it's been part of the Rockford Park District's programming since 1986, and has since grown to three locations, including Anna Page Park's longer, more technical East, West and South courses.

It's free to play — no fee, no registration, just bring your own discs. Because the terrain is level and the tree cover is savannah-style rather than dense forest, it's a reasonable pick for a first round or for playing with kids, with Anna Page Park across town as the step up in difficulty once you're ready for it.
