Cottonwood Disc Golf Course

The Cottonwood Disc Golf Course plays through the riparian corridor at Riverfront Park, the city's largest park, on the south bank of the Verde River opposite Dead Horse Ranch State Park. The City of Cottonwood describes 18 holes winding through mature cottonwood groves, sandy terrain and tight wooded lanes, with hole lengths running from 200 ft to over 440 ft.

Every hole has dual tee pads — shorter recreational tees aimed at casual players and families, and longer tees with more technical fairways — and the city's published layout map shows an alternate pin position on each hole as well, so the course can be reset short or long. The park itself has restrooms, playgrounds, ball fields, volleyball courts and a skate park, plus trail access toward the surrounding state land. At about 3,300 feet in the Verde Valley, spring and fall are the comfortable seasons; summer afternoons here are hot.
