Disc golf in Newport News

Newport News' disc golf is concentrated in one place: an 18-hole course in the Arboretum area of Newport News Park, the city's nearly 8,000-acre park at the north end of town. It's a wooded, close-to-flat course, and unusually for a municipal course it's pay-to-play — a $4 daily permit or a $35 annual pass, bought at the campsite office along with rental discs. The city's GIS department publishes a hole-by-hole map with both a regulation and a championship set of distances, so you can see exactly what you're walking into before you go.
