The City of Dallas has run a disc golf course at B.B. Owen Park since 1985, which makes it the oldest of the four courses the Park and Recreation Department operates inside Dallas proper. The park is a 27.1-acre neighborhood park established in 1978 on Walnut Hill Lane in Lake Highlands, just south of I-635. The city lists the course at 18 holes, par 3 on every hole, and 5,670 feet total — a little over 300 feet a hole on average, and the Dallas Disc Golf Club's own hole-by-hole listing runs from 159 feet up to 411 feet.
The city describes the ground as flat and lightly wooded, and Visit Dallas notes only minor elevation changes across a wooded round, so this plays as a placement course rather than a distance one. The park has parking, picnic tables, water fountains, a playground, a lighted basketball court, and a kiosk with the course rules posted. Play is free. It is the most active of the city's courses day to day — a 2022 Advocate piece described a regular crowd that turns out year-round, and the Dallas Disc Golf Club runs a weekly event here.
