Disc golf in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh's disc golf scene runs through the Pittsburgh Flying Disc Society, a club founded in 1981 that has designed and maintained the city's courses ever since. The 18-hole Schenley Park course, PFDS's original 1988 layout, is the city's flagship — a hilly mix of open hillside and heavy hardwood forest in the 456-acre Schenley Park. Across town in Carrick, the 9-hole Phillips Park course is a shorter, hillside layout that Carrick High School teachers and students designed and built themselves in 1996. Both are free, city-owned Citiparks courses.
