Disc golf in Albuquerque

Albuquerque's disc golf scene centers on Roosevelt Park — a historic New Deal-era park near downtown known locally as "Rosie," where the Albuquerque Disc Golf Association runs most of its league play across a compact, tree-lined layout. Four miles south, Brent Baca Memorial sits inside the city's 577-acre Montessa Park open space and is the long, difficult, fully exposed opposite: 18 holes at par 59 with an arroyo doing the work trees do elsewhere. About five miles the other way on the West Mesa, Ladera Golf Course threads an 18-hole disc golf routing through its ball-golf fairways, making it the city's only pay-to-play course. All three sit near 5,100 feet, and the choice between them is mostly a choice about shade and wind.
