Hornets Nest Park Disc Golf Course

Hornets Nest Park in northwest Charlotte is one of the premier championship disc golf courses in the country. Established in the mid-1990s and significantly redesigned by Mark Huether around 2015, it became a marquee competitive venue — it hosted the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship, the tour's season finale, from 2019 through 2021.

The course is tight and tree-choked, a demanding test of controlled, accurate throwing rather than raw power; its most infamous hole, 'The Web,' punishes anything that strays off the fairway. With 20 installed baskets and multiple pin-and-tee configurations, its length varies widely — from a manageable everyday round to well over 8,000 feet in full pro setup — which is why we don't pin a single distance to it. It carries a ~4.6-star UDisc rating from around 8,200 rounds and still hosts the PDGA A-tier Carolina Clash. Free and public, but best enjoyed by intermediate and advanced players who relish a technical challenge.
