Beaver Ranch Disc Golf Course

Beaver Ranch is one of the best mountain disc golf courses in the world, tucked into the ponderosa pines at over 8,000 feet in Conifer, southwest of Denver. Designed by Rudy Gorke and opened in 2006 on land managed by the nonprofit Beaver Ranch Community in partnership with Jefferson County Open Space, it's a 21-hole course with three tee-and-pin configurations — the Gold layout stretches to par 67 and nearly 7,800 feet, while the Blue plays a more approachable par 63.

One important thing sets it apart from most park courses: it's pay-to-play. You'll need to reserve a tee time and buy a day pass (roughly $15–17), which keeps the course uncrowded and immaculately kept. The altitude is the other wildcard — thin mountain air makes discs fly farther and glide longer, so plan to club down. It holds a ~4.8-star UDisc rating from around 9,600 rounds and ranks in UDisc's global top 100. It's a summer course — snow closes it in winter — but on a clear day in the pines it's hard to beat.
