Rillito River Park Disc Golf Course

Rillito River Park Disc Golf Course runs along the river's south bank in Tucson, between La Cholla Boulevard and La Canada Drive, and is maintained by Pima County. Per the county's parks page, it's an 18-hole, soft-path course (natural ground tees rather than concrete pads) open sunrise to sunset, with parking at the Shamrock Trailhead east of La Cholla Boulevard.

The course exists because of a partnership between Pima County and the Tucson Disc Golf Association (TDGA): a TDGA member noticed the county-owned riverbank property and proposed installing a course, according to a Tucson newspaper report on the local disc golf scene's growth — it became the seventh public course TDGA had helped bring to the area, and, like the club's other courses, it's free to play. The open desert terrain along the riverbed means little shade, so plan for sun and wind, and expect a longer round than Tucson's more wooded courses.
